A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving |*****| If there was a better novel written in the 20th century, I'm unaware of it. This was my third trip through Irving's masterpiece; I used to be frustrated there was no movie version, but this read finally convinced me that it's for the best, because there's simply no way the book could be adequately captured. (And I've learned my lesson about movies butchering great books from The Book Thief, a movie for which someone should be jailed for at least a decade.)
