Theft of Fire by Devon Eriksen | **** | An exceptional sci-fi debut from an an author who retired from engineering to focus on creating a new fictional universe. AI, deep space, genetic modification: Theft of Fire has it all, along with snappy dialogue, humor (both elevated and base), and a cliffhanger of an ending that will lend itself well to the sequel (already in the works). A really, really good book, all around.
